News and Notes: Volume 2, Number 15

From Chromebooks to Cans

Last week, Chromebooks were the thing that made me thankful.  I was thankful for the generosity displayed by so many in our community and from alumni and friends who have moved on but still hold WLPS near and dear to their hearts (below we recognize those who donated this week alone). What could top such kindness and giving...?
Our annual National Honor Society canned food drive netted over 4000 cans of food which will be delivered to Northfield Human Services. The cans brought in by students were loaded up at the end of the day.  What a great sight to witness--dozens of students and teachers in a human assembly line loading cars and trucks. Later a group hand delivered them to NHS (pictured below).  This is a season for giving, and I like to think the model set by so many adults and their donations of Chromebooks set an example for our students to give something, too.

On behalf of the staff at WLPS, enjoy your break, and happy new year.
